Sunway Lost World of Tambun's Sawadee Screamfest 5 opens tonight, 16 October 2026, and runs nine Friday-to-Sunday nights through 1 November. Ipoh Echo carried the park briefing on 15 October. Haunt doors are 7.25pm to 11pm. The same ticket covers Hot Springs and Night Park from 6pm, which is the useful bit if you came to Tambun to eat and soak, not only to be jumped.
Last year's edition used Malaysian folklore. This year the team went Thai. Eight houses sit in the limestone bowl at Sunway City Ipoh: Dead Man's Rail, The Curse of Kong Koi, Tandas Phi Kee, Haunted Chambers with Hong Rai, Kra Hang's Night Flight, The Susuk Chambers, The Eternal Theatre, and Luminous Forest. General manager Brian Francis told Ipoh Echo the park wants to be more than an operator of rides. That is a press line. What it means on the ground is costumed actors, a launch stage, and a night ticket that already includes the pools.
What the ticket actually covers
Buy on the Lost World webstore, not at the gate if you hold a MyKad. MissLobang recut the park's own rates on 15 October and they still matched the webstore terms. Code WS2608SFMYKAD drops an adult from RM140 to RM115 and a child from RM115 to RM95. A child is 90cm and above, age 12 and under. Under 90cm is free. Seniors 60 and above sit at RM115 on the same store, with no cheaper MyKad senior line on the poster.
That Screamfest wristband is also a Night Park ticket. Ordinary Hot Springs and Night Park MyKad rates are RM105 adult and RM85 child. Screamfest therefore costs RM10 more a head than a plain night visit. Walk-in Night Park is RM130 adult and RM105 child. The Night Park block is open daily 6pm to 11pm. It includes the hot spring pools, the steam cave, Ipoh Street food stalls, and the Luminous Forest light walk from 8pm to 10pm. Outside food and drink stay outside, including inside the haunted houses. Eat on Ipoh Street or arrive fed.
The nine nights are 16 to 18 October, 23 to 25 October, and 30 October to 1 November. Pick the date when you pay. The webstore terms say no exchange, no refund, no re-entry. If the sky opens over Tambun, you still own that night. Attractions can close without notice. Bring the original e-voucher and the MyKad. The park charges the difference to the published online price if you cannot show ID.
How this sits in a Tambun evening
Lost World is the north-of-town family park in the limestone, not Old Town. Theme park hours on the official homepage are Monday to Friday 11am to 11pm, closed Tuesday except Malaysian school and public holidays, and 10am to 11pm on weekends and those holidays. Screamfest only runs Friday to Sunday, so the Tuesday close does not eat your haunt night. A daytime theme park ticket is a separate purchase if you want Stormrider, Dragon Flights, Giddy Galleon, Perak Parade, or Swan Lake before 6pm. The park lists those five as still running during Screamfest, plus seven live stages.
Ipoh Street is the food reason to go early. The haunt doors are 7.25pm. The pools open at 6pm. That hour is when you eat, change, and decide whether the children stay at the springs while the adults do Kong Koi. Skip the houses with small children who scare easily. This is actors in corridors, not a cartoon maze. The limestone cliff behind The Susuk Chambers is the same karst as Perak Tong up the north road. You are still in Ipoh. You are just not on Concubine Lane.
Annual pass holders should call 05-542 8888 before assuming free entry. MissLobang listed the Hot Springs and Night Park annual pass at RM198 for Malaysians, against a published RM648. Separately ticketed events are often excluded, and a new pass can take five working days to activate. For the first weekend of 16 to 18 October that window has already closed. The second weekend, 23 to 25 October, is the first one a pass bought this week might actually cover, if the park says it does.
Sunway Lagoon Studios shot the launch photographs used here. Ipoh Echo published the house list and the Francis quote on 15 October, with 7.25pm on the official block. MissLobang had 7.15pm on a 2 October pass, and still 7.15pm when they rechecked prices on 15 October. Trust 7.25pm from the park's 15 October briefing, and treat 6pm Night Park as the eat-and-soak start.
